What is the best medical innovation that have occurred during the last 2o yrs?

In 2001, 225 internists were asked what the ten most important innovations during the last 20 years.

The top 10 choices are

1) MRI and CT scanning

2) ACE inhibitors and Angiotensin antagonists

3) Coronary Stents

4) Statins

5) Mammography

6) CABG

7) Proton pump inhibitors

8) SSRIs

9) Cataract extraction and lens implant


10) Hip and knee replacements.

How do you expect a particular discovery/innovation to be rated?
Is it by,
1.Considering the effiacacy
2.desease prevelence and hence reach to many affeted people
3.Complexity of the desease and hence innovation
OR
4.Would you consider a highest voted discovery/innovation ?

I find it bit difficult to rate each of them,all of them are in way a technological marvels that has improved the life of many a thousands
