Do you include people who are facing weight problems? Indeed for some people who are obese or overweight tersa difficult to menurunkanya. Sometimes even to despair and let this situation happen to them.

Generally most people have a lot of willingness to lose weight, but to no avail. To increase the chances of success of behavior change necessary 1-2.

Some of the habits that made a person could unwittingly create difficult weight is reduced so that it remains to be fat. For that to know what things that can make a person difficult to become thin

1. Frequent snacking on salty foods:

Sodium contained in salt can make a person continue to eat without realizing that he will be snacking in big portions. Gradually reducing salt intake can make a person slightly reduce ketagihannya.

2. Eating in front of the television:

This is because someone is eating but do not burn calories, and studies show that eating in front of the television will make it consume more calories and menjadikanya increasingly inactive. And do not sleep after eating a heavy meal, but wait until several hours later.

3. Skipping meals:

Do not have a regular meal times can make the body difficult to control appetite and become more of a meal. If someone spent the time eating the brain has no power and will send a signal to eat more.

4. Eating quickly:

If someone ate quickly will make it feel full faster and will move to other foods. For that try to enjoy it and slow it down so the body more able to recognize the full signal and makes the brain issued an order to stop eating.

Many of those who try to loose weight end up not loosing. They start a program on a tight rope Do’s and Don’ts make unnatural commitments or follow fad diets. This all results in making mistakes that can be easily avoided.

Your Attitude counts: Many of those who want to loose weight consciously or unconsciously do it as a “war” against the body. This makes it like an uphill struggle for many. Yet, others feel they have to “sacrifice” a lot to shed weight. Simple pleasures like a spoon of sugar in tea or a piece of cake at son’s birthday is treated like a sin. Many foods are termed “bad” and eating them you feel is a curse.

Goal Failure: Many patients who come to my clinic have a set goal on their mind on how much they want to loose. Like the other day, a patient weighing 92 kg comes with a set goal that she wants to be 55 kgs in a period of 2-3 months, the weight that she was when she got married 20 years before. When some one burdens one’s self with such unrealistic goals and time frame, then frustration sets in and the possibility of goal failure is high.

Setting up attainable goals is vital in every weight loss plan. Goals need to be very clear, realistic and set out in writing. A far more valuable goal should be to lose ½ to 1 kg per week. Some weeks you may shed more and some much less, some weeks you might even gain, but if you observe how well you're progressing on a chart you will recognize that ups and downs are natural and do not stop you progressing gradually toward your main goal.

Yoyo Dieting: Yo yo diet is not some fancy diet that will help you lose weight. Yo yo diet means someone follows a diet and successfully loses weight in a short period, then resume their old eating habit and gain back or even increase their weight. Yo yo diet also called weight cycling. When you are on diet, your metabolism slow down because of limited calories intake. Once you resume your normal eating habit, your will gain weight faster than before. You don’t need as much calories as before because your metabolism is slower. The extra calories will turn in to fat and store in your body. That explains why many dieters fail and pack on more weight at the end.

Any diet that asks you to take a big cut on calories in a short period of time can easily turn in to yo yo diet. Skipping meal is the worst thing you can do because it has the most effect on your metabolism. Do not follow any diet plan that promises quick fixes in short period of time.

Fad Diets: The “lose weight instantly” diets just make your body lose water (fluid), not fats. You bet you are going to put the weight back on with a couple of glasses of water. You want to lose body fats not water so stay away from these fad diets. Just as Rome wasn't built in a day, a good diet needs time to work its magic for you. Be aware of all the so-called fad diets from GM to K diets.

Saving for a special Occasion: I have seen many people, specially women will loose weight with a strict diet and exercise say for a marriage in the house. Then during the marriage and post event eating comes with a double punch effect because according to them they had all saved it for this “special occasion”. This may costs most of them very dearly because not only they gain the original weight but more and in the form of stubborn fat.

Over exercising: Everyone knows that dieting is a numbers game: You have to burn more calories than you consume. But don't work out to the point of exhaustion. If you're logging long hours on the treadmill without the proper fuel, you'll wind up starving—and stuffing your self later.

Eating too few calories: Don't be afraid of food. Many girls and women especially set ridiculously unrealistic calorie goals, and they wind up emotionally defeated when they fail to come within their target range. Everybody is different, so don't focus so much on the numbers. Keep portions reasonable and eat a well balanced diet for the day.

All days may not be the same: Let's say that every day you eat an egg- omelette for breakfast, a midmorning snack of sprouts, and for lunch salads, roti sabji, curds —but even then today you start feeling hungry by 3 p.m. Too often you may ignore the hunger cues and try not to eat any more. The problem is you are setting yourself up for defeat. You should realize some days might be different. You might be tired, the blood sugars may be low, or just plain hungrier today. You need to listen to your body: If you're hungry, have a small snack (may be fruit or bhuna chana). Learn the difference between real hunger and a craving, and act on the former.

There are yet some more common mistakes that I come across with weight loss patients.

  1. Starving during the day and eating the one and only meal at night.
  2. Skipping breakfast.
  3. Avoiding Milk.
  4. Replacing sugar with sugar free.
  5. Eating only one type of food per day.
  6. Eating only fruits and that too in kilos.
  7. Eating only proteins (the no carb diet fad)
  8. Anything with the label “diet food” is consumed in plenty.
  9. Eating plenty of ketchup and pickles.
  10. Drinking tea/ coffee more than 8 cups a day.
  11. Worrying endlessly:  Sounds strange but true, the more you fret about weight loss the less likely it is going to fall, so cheer up, go slow and 1-2 year of consistent weight loss is far better than a lifetime of dieting!

If you've been making most of these diet mistakes, do not worry. The most crucial part of dieting as in so many other pursuits would be to move on. Learn from your failures as well as your success and do not use a mistake for a justification for quitting. The best way to achieve your ultimate goal completely is always to make a commitment to turn into a healthier. Learn how to appreciate food moderately and you have every chance of staying away from these types of bad diet mistakes.
