hi,
i have dns issue and due to which i have started breathing issue and i have been using nasal drops whenever i had issue with breathing but now i feel im addicted ,so any one can suggest what would be better way and also let me know does constant using of nasal sprays has any adverse effect?

if you are using nasal decongestants (xylometazoline)......you might develop rhinitis medicamentosa.....ur turbinates get atrophied....

the nasal decongestants like xylometazoline .,..they are a two edges swords ....if u use them u feel initially better ....then u get addicted to it
when u stop it ...there is reactionary hypertrophy of the nasal mucosa over the turbinates leading to stuffy nose .... nd same problems for which u started the drug ...
then u start again using the drug so to get relieved but it with same principle hypertrophy occurs ... and the vicious cycle continues till ur nose is completely blocked ....
in short you have rhinitis medicamentosa
the treatment is
stopping the drug and starting yourself on inhaled corticosteroids for a few weeks and nd then tappering it offf
it would resolve with medical treatment if not u have to go under knife to remove excesss of tissue
better consult a ENT specialist ...
